I have seen women “pull off” longer hair in professional positions on TV, but have always been told the higher up the ladder we go, the shorter our hair should be?

I am “up the ladder” as I can get in my present position and I don’t know what to do with all my hair. It is to my armpits in pretty layers. I really like it!

I have a very young face and have tried to wear my hair short (which I actually prefer) and end up with “so cute”, “you look like a little girl” comments, and “love your pixie”. When I wear my hair long it is beautiful, full and shiny. Men act all stupid about it. So I pull it back…everyday…in a barrette or up in a twist. blah. I look like a volleyball player.

A woman visited my office this week that was so professional, I loved her look, loved her suit, shoes, short, boy-cut, salt and pepper hair…but she was obviously in her late 50s.

I am 42, but still look in my 30s and tend to dress slightly “trendy- professional”. I am pleased with my look below the neck, but ready for something better above the neck. Any suggestions?

    Web pictures/sites are great!
