Celebrity hairstylist Kylee Heath did just that with these simple-but-stunning, relaxed curls. Follow her lead to DIY the look at home:
Step 1: First, Heath started out by prepping damp hair with Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Boost & Lift Foaming Air Mousse ($3.99), specifically at the roots, for lightweight volume.
Step 2: Next, she spritzed sections from the middle through the ends with Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Heat Protect & Shine Spray ($3.99).
Step 3: Heath then took sections, starting at the nape of the neck, and blow-dried through with a medium-sized round boar bristle brush—mainly focusing on getting lift at the roots while smoothing out the ends.
Step 4: Using a 1¾-inch curling iron, she then curled 2-inch sections of hair—lightly spraying each curl with Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Flexible Hold Hairspray ($3.99) and pinning each section in place. After every curl was set, she unpinned and brushed each section out with a Mason Pearson brush. (One of our favorite ever investment brushes!)
Step 5: To wrap up the look, Heath lightly teased Dawson’s roots to create volume and spritzed her locks with hairspray for a gorgeous sheen.
